****TICKETS ON SALE FROM 10AM ON SATURDAY 15 AUGUST**** An hour-long walking tour around the fascinating Curzon Street area. Explore the city’s past and present whilst getting a glimpse of its future. The massive structures of the new HS2 line come into Curzon Street behind the historical Grade I listed former Curzon Street station. On the other side of the road, Millennium Point and Birmingham City University stand proud as part of Birmingham's Knowledge Quarter. Alongside these more recent developments, the tour includes a canal and surviving historical buildings that help tell the story of this area as it prepares to step into its high speed future. We’ll also visit the site of the street that had Birmingham’s shortest name! Ending at the splendid Grade II listed Woodman pub, participants can join tour guide Al for a drink and a bite to eat following the tour to continue the discussion. The tour has been designed exclusively for Birmingham Heritage Week and won’t be running as a regular tour. The tour is around an hour long and 1 mile walking distance. Going into the pub is an optional addition which doesn’t form part of the tour. No drinks or food are included in the ticket price. The tour is on pavements with some steps and slopes. The tour is entirely outside and we don’t enter the old Curzon St station or any other buildings. Comfortable footwear and weather appropriate clothing is recommended.
